Alternating between the Facebook, myspace, and Digg home links everyday, I find myself wondering whether or not Bush really is as bad as Digg users make him out to be. Several times a day, there is a story about something Bush did wrong. I cant recall seeing any headlines stating something long the lines of "Bush saves lives!" or, "Bush rescues cat from burning building!". This makes me wonder why impeachment is not an option.
I remember reading an article a while back about some old man telling a young boy that, after years in america, he was leaving o Germany because the events occurring in the White House, are eerily similar to those preceding the holocaust.
I woke up this morning to headlines exclaiming that Bush has announced himself as a dictator and has gotten rid of the fifth amendment.
This country is fucked up. When a case goes to court that is obivously ridiculous, we go by the constitution. That woman who took mcdonalds to court for spilling hot coffee on herself comes to mind. While every American sat on their couch and wondered why this woman was getting $50 million, the court was saying, "well the constitution says..."
We cannot let Bush get away with this. Maybe I'll wake up tomorrow morning with a knock on my door from the feds asking for all my stuff, but I would rather have nothing and stand up for my rights then sit at home and say, "I hate Bush, too bad we cant do anything about it."
Another year is too much. Pretty soon they'll decide taking our stuff isn't enough, and they'll come to your door and say, "Tell your family goodbye your goin to the gas chamber."
We need to take serious action now.
I'm going on a trip to Washington DC next week, my little brother picked it out. Were gonna have to stand by the fences to look at buildings because our own government cant trust us because of what some goddamned foreigners blew up our buildings.
I can't remember who it was but in English class, our teacher told us about how when we go into a bookstore, they take down our address for buying certain books. And we had a discussion about racial profiling. He told us that on the radio, a talk show host said, "I'm sorry middle aged irish women didn't blow up the towers on 9/11"
Why are we being punished for their mistakes?! Why does the president think he can spy on us, and change laws to fit his needs?! Why do we have to be scared of losing things and getting into trouble for speaking out?!
Because WE are letting them get away with it.
